Page from the MH offical art book of the armor.
A ton of pictures follow in this post, so be sure to continue reading! ;3
All of the armor is built on cardboard bases, assembled from scraps of random Amazon boxes and hot glue. Expanding foam goes on the armor, then I carve. Pretty simple process, but takes a while due to the foam having to set and dry.

The foam I use. SO CHEAP!
Carving the foam.. extremely messy. I do it outside on a blanket for easy cleanup. It's pretty windy so far this summer so foam blows EVERYWHERE. My lungs. :( The carving is totally worth it though, since the results are pretty nice by itself.
Ninja turtle shell? NOPE, MONSTER HUNTER.
I also started work on the massive freaking shoulder pauldrons. Way more difficult than the chest pieces, and during the spraying of the foam process I got some foam on my hand. THAT STUFF DOES NOT COME OFF. Ended up having to use some lemon+cold water mixture and use a pumice stone on my hand to remove it. -_-
The amazingly expensive skeleton of the foam.
That's all the progress shots for now. Today I purchased some thin craft foam, velcro, and leather, so you'll be seeing those put to use soon. ;3
Thanks for reading! Keep checking back for updates too~
